Terrible experience with insurance people
My bike insurance policy expired on 1st sept. I went to the ICICI Lombard office, on Richmond Road, just besides LifeStyle, to renew it. That time, they took Rs. 850 from me in cash, and gave me a temporary reciept, which will be expiring after two months. They told me that by this time within 60 days, I will get my permanent copy by mail to my home address. I said great and I left.
But near the end of two months, I realized that I still didn't get any copy. I call to them telling this problem. They ask me the cover note number and other information. The reciever told me that he will get back to me in 5 to 10 minutes.
After two days, I again call back, and asked them what happened. This time the lady told me that my reciept number is not in thier databse, and I have to visit to their office. I said great.
So today, after the validity is over, I visit their office. The receptionist took my reciept and goes inside. She came back, and start paying attention to other customers. Nothing happened for some time. Some man came from inside, and tell me that as I pay money in cash, there is some problem with the transaction. And I need to make a call on the number 66597600, and ask for the status. I said great, and came out of the office, but remain in the building.
I call the number from my mobile, and they connect me to two wheeler department. This person ask me my cover note number, name, and then my contact number. He told me that he will come back to me after 5-10 minutes. I said great, and waited for his call. I didn't recieve any call.
After 20 minutes, I call back again, asking the same thing. This time after giving me the music, the guy came back saying that there is noone free in two wheeler department. Call after 5-10 minutes. I said great.
After 10 minutes, I call back again. This time there was somebody to attend my call. He asked me the same information, and I gave him the same information, along with my telephone number, saying great.
After that I came to office, leaving all hopes that the work will be done today. From office (free phone calls, he he he), till now I have made 7 calls. So including the above 3 calls, in one day itself I made 10 calls. (new world record may be). Same things repeat in all these calls. The call each time will go to different person. And same thing will repeat. Only the last 2 calls were picked up by some person. This person already picked the call twice. So overall 4 times my call was directed to him. At the last call, he repeats the infomation by himself, and then call me back, saying that by tomorrow afternoon he will give me the position of my transaction.
I again said great.
